Meet Enakshi Johri 'Reviewer' as an contributing author of Ishq the Rain of Love

Active blogger and writer, Enakshi Johri, is a regular author for Indus woman Writing. She also writes for several literary magazines and e-journals. She is an acclaimed book reviewer and her reviews can be found either on her personal blog or Efiction India website (e-magazine).
v Hello, Enakshi, tell us something about yourself. How did you start writing?
Hi, I am a freelance writer/ author (whatever you prefer calling) and a semi-professional book reviewer. Teaching is my vocation. I review books for some of the leading publications like Rupa, Leadstart and Half Baked Beans. I write for EfictionIndia and Induswomanwriting.  I starting with blogging about social issues and the rest followed.

v At Present you are just in mid-twenties, have you set any goal for yourself?

Yes, I have a five-year plan that includes completion of two novellas and their successful publication. As far as long-term goals are concerned, I believe in crossing the bridge when I come to it.

v Tell something about the book and your story/poem?

Ishq (2) is an anthology of short stories and poems that have a flavor of love and the emotions that come along with this feeling. My story, ‘The Turning Page’, does not reek of love; it portrays the blend of several emotions that follow after heartbreak.

v What are your expectations from the book?
Since love is the most liked topic amongst the youth, I expect the book to be received by the readers positively.

v Have you ever felt any insecurity about writing?
No.
Nobody should have insecurities about writing. “Whether or not you write well, write bravely”- we write to vent out our feelings on a motley canvas. There are no bargains, no awards, no expectations and no punishments for writing.

v How is your experience with publishers?
This is my second anthology with Inklovers the first one being ‘The Pink Throne’. Though underrated, they do a fabulous job. Not only are the members polite but very helpful too.

v Your favorite book and author?
There are so many but the one that is my all-time favorite is P.S. I love You by Cecelia Ahern.

v Is there a message in your story/poem?
Yes, there is.

v What You would have become if you were not a writer?

I am already a teacher by profession. I hold a master’s degree in Biotechnology; if not a writer, then I would have definitely succumbed to the pressures of a researcher’s life.
v Is there any other genre that you would work on in future?
I would like to try my hand at mystery/ thriller.

v Dear Enakshi, you seem to be so mature, talented and passionate about your work. From where do you get all the motivation?
The never-ending support of my family and the will to learn and improve helps me grow.

v And the last one, tell us something about your upcoming books and works?
My first book is what I am currently working on. I am facing a writer’s block (with respect to the climax of the story). Other than this, there is nothing more on the platter.

Thank You Enakshi!
She shares her experience and her perception through her website (http://aliveshadow.blogspot.in/).
