Interview: Sandeep Sharma
‘Let the Game Begin is reaching to readers hand and
catching a massive positive hit by reviewers.
Let’s catch the writer of the book Sandeep Sharma.
Sandeep Sharma,
made his debut in the writing industry with ‘Hey Dad! Meet my mom’, the book
which is still a hot topic of discussion amongst readers. He is currently
working on his start-up venture named ‘Author Paradise’ that works for the
benefit of Authors to provide them well-organized online & offline
publicity. By education, he is a civil engineer.
AMIT- Hello
Sir! How are you feeling today? Second time on same blog. You remember HDM3
interview?
Sandeep- I
am good Amit and yes I do remember our previous chat for ‘Hey Dad!’. I am
pretty excited for today’s interaction.
AMIT- An Engineer, A writer and Author
Paradise what is next?
Sandeep- MBA, Banker and then Nach Baliye’s
Judge! *LOL*. Well seriously I have no idea of what is going to happen in
future. I never think for larger goals; I am a kind of a person who lives in
present and love to make it as best as possible.
AMIT- There is a Quote “Behind every
man’s success there is a woman”. But who is/are behind the success of Sandeep
Sharma?
Sandeep- There are many. Let me take the
liberty to write about this question in detail.
Firstly
I would say my mother. Let me take an incident here. Writing sometimes becomes
tedious and being an Engineer, your parents expect a lot from you. It is not
that your parents will whole heartedly accept your passion taking over your
professional life. That was a cold night (or day). Clock was showing 4 am and I
was writing a very interesting chapter of ‘Let the Game Begin’. I was totally
engrossed in my writing, so left the track of time. At 4 am, I realized the
cold around me. The moment I pulled my eyes off the screen of the laptop, I saw
my mother standing with a cup of coffee. I do remember that she was the most
excited person to know that the first draft of LTGB was over that night.
Secondly,
I have my sisters. Deepshikha Sharma, looking and fighting each day with God to
pave the path of success for me, from above the heights of sky and Kavita
Sharma, fueling my confidence each time, it gets over.
Another
lady is Tushti Bhatia. She is having a magical touch over me. Since the day, a
copy of HDM3 has reached her, everything seems to be so easy in this literature
field. She is like the back bone of my career.
Last
but not the least, my editor, Dhivya Balaji. I have never seen this kind of
enthusiasm in anyone before for LTGB.
AMIT- ‘Let
the Game Begin’ is it Thriller? Tell something about the book.
Sandeep- Two kingdoms, Chaturanga and Sarprakt, separated by a
mystic mountain range are at war with each other since ages. Chaturanga, ruled
by King Viratha, is soon bestowed with a dynamic heir, and the whole kingdom is
drowned in rituals and festivity. On the other side, Sarprakt is executing a
cruel conspiracy. King Viratha, crippled by the conspiracy, urges the
mysterious man of the mountain to devise a method to recreate the conspiracy
and that gave birth to 'The Game of Chess'. Serial killings shock the nation as
the police are rendered clueless. The killer leaves behind a trail of chess
pieces with a strange message. Random people are murdered. Connoisseurs of
different fields - History, Chess and the Security forces - have united as the
next intended victim is the most powerful person of the country. How is Chess
involved in the whole scenario? How will they find a man who died 4000 years
ago? Can a person defy the laws of nature? Does history really repeat itself?
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
AMIT-
What were your expectations from book?
Sandeep- Every
book is like a child for an Author and for a parent the biggest teacher are
their own children. So yes, this book is teaching me a lot and the most
important thing among them all is that in India, readers love the content. I
was frightened that would people accept anything other than love story or not
but I am surprised to see the response. The first edition of the book is almost
gone in 1st month only.
AMIT- What
was the hardest part of writing this book?
Sandeep- Arranging
the different timelines and keeping the flow intact to make this complex story
a simpler one for the readers. It took me 3 months to just prepare the flow
charts of the events.
AMIT-
How was your experience with publishers?
Sandeep- Without
the help of a publisher, a book can never succeed. Inspire India Publishers,
despite of being a newbie, knows exactly how to help an author to grow. On
every single step, they stand tall with me and supported in every way possible.
I have never seen such a transparent way of working before.
AMIT-
Is there any other genre that you would work on in future?
Sandeep- I
promised one thing to myself that I will never stick to one genre ever. My next
would be inspirational one, then horror and lastly I want to write an Adult
fantasy as well.
AMIT-
And the last one, you seems to be so mature, talented and passionate for your
work. From where you get so much passion, energy, eager to work and work. Share
with us.
Sandeep- Reviews.
The feeling that somewhere, someone, at this present moment is reading your
work and fantasizing the story you have wrote, is the source of energy that
drives me to write more.
